Wow, been a while. I haven't stopped popping out great money making ideas. I've just forgotten to blog about them.

Became severely into "couponing" for my groceries. I've whittled it down to where I save a good $75-$85 each time I go to Walmart. I buy around $350-400 worth and the $75 in coupons come off of that. I don't get any hassle from the register people. They all know me now. I shop at least every other week so I'm saving myself around $150 minimum in grocery savings.

I also started tagging Walgreens and abusing their Register Rewards. I figured out how to use their money via Register Rewards to purchase items which I will donate for a tax write off. I can easily purchase $200 in a weekend of things I don't have to spend much on. Well, on $200 in products I'll spend about $20 in taxes. But I'll donate the $200 worth of items to Goodwill. Actually, the items I buy are on sale usually too. If I understand correctly, you can write off the "fair market value." So if I buy a bottle of shampoo for $1.99 (and I only pay the tax), I should be able to write-off the fair market value for that particular bottle aka non-sale price.

So, my goal is to have acquired around $2000 for the year and write it off. Its practically free. Check here for the latest deals. These people spell it out for you.

Paid To Surf TrafficHoopla Advertising Campaign

I'm trying a new concept lately. Since I'm pushing my Yuwie signup and obviously need people to sign up with my referral, I've gone after some advertising. I was told that there were "paid to surf" websites whereby I could manually look at ads and get paid for them. Only, instead of cash, I'm trading them back in for my ad to get looked at.

There is one site called TrafficHoopla that lists all the sites and helps keep track of them. I use Firefox with multiple tabs set up to quickly switch from tab to tab. You have to click on a little button on the top or the bottom of the page after a timer goes off to get credit for viewing the ad.
With Firefox, you open ten surf sites under a separate tab and save them as a group. Then you can open all the surf sites at one time. Next, use your tab key and control key to quickly switch to the next tab. So, the left hand is switching tabs, the right hand is using the mouse to click the buttons.

Once your sick of clicking, you go into your account with each surf site and assign the credits your earned to your advertising campaign. Some sites allow you to convert your surfing credits to actual dollars but I haven't looked into that. I'm sure you have to click your ass off to make any real money.

So, I've only done this for a couple of days. The surf site admins have to approve of your website ad before it puts you in the rotation. This takes a day or so, so I haven't been able to see the benefits of all my work yet.

I have seen four signups in two days however, on my Yuwie account. I've placed ads on CraigsList, Youtube, and run a few of these surfing advertising campaigns. Not sure which one worked but I'm already seeing results.

More as the story develops....as they say in the media.

Testing Footers for Fun

Messing around on Helium (and making money to boot), I've realized that footers linking to Digg and such can be a big help in boosting traffic. So I viewed the source code of one of my Helium articles and copied the html for the review buttons. Hopefully, they show nicely below this article.

For some reason, my mouse disappears while hovering over them. I've never seen that happen before. I also have to figure out how to get each button to link to the article it is referencing.

AdBux.org Has Potential but Lacks Professionalism

AdBux.org has given me mixed feelings. The business model seems to be pretty solid. Advertisers pay to have their ads viewed. Viewers get paid to view the ads. Website makes a teeny bit of profit as the middle man.

I paid $4.50 to have 1000 people view my Helium article. AdBux members (free signup) earned $2.25 of that. I made $10 at Helium for getting my article viewed (Helium pays one penny per article view.) Although, they may suspend me for sending traffic this way.

AdBux also has paid memberships whereby a paid member can earn more per click, get unclaimed referrals and more. So far, I've only made about twenty-three cents in two weeks but I turned that into 50 page views at Helium and doubled it to the equivalent of one dollar in earnings at Helium.

Not sure how it will play out but is fun to play with.

Collecting Aluminum Cans With My Daughter

My ten year old daughter Victoria is all excited about collecting aluminum cans. We spent an hour or so this morning walking the desert next to our neighborhood looking for cans. She was happy to find each one. I was happy to get alone time with my oldest of four daughters.

I have some work to do but will blog more about this in a little while.

Target Project Final Results: Profit = $234.38 in One Week

Sold all six items.

eBay fees since last invoice: (View account status) US $44.68
paypal fees for accepting money thru them US $30.71
total fees $75.39

cost of products sold (includes tax) $431.07

total amount products sold for on ebay $740.84

revenue minus cost minus fees 740.84-(75.39 +431.07) ==== $234.38

So I made $234.38 in one week. Not considered in the numbers is driving to Target twice and time spent listing the items and shipping them. Target is four miles from my house and on the way to my kids school. I spent maybe three hours total between listing, shipping, and driving to post office.

Not bad, eh? Just another income stream.

Auction numbers, if you need proof:

170140894477 , 170141115465 , 170141115366 , 170141150290 , 170141134992 , 170141099090

Model Three radios were bought for $49 and radio combos for $99.

Now, let's do it again!
